Campanula ground cover

trailing bellflowerTrailing Bellflower, Campanula poscharskyana

The leaves can be eaten raw or cooked. A pleasant sweet flavour but the leaves are a little tough.

It makes a very addition to mixed salads in the winter, though we tend not to eat it much at other times of the year when there are more leaves available.

The flowers can be used raw. Produced in abundance, they have a pleasant sweet flavour and make a decorative addition to the salad bowl.

A rampantly spreading plant, suitable for ground cover in a sunny position.

Adria Bellflower, Campanula portenschlagiana

adria bellflowerThe leaves are eaten raw or cooked. The leaves are rather small, but they are produced all year round.

They have a mild flavour and make an acceptable ingredient in mixed salads, especially in the winter, but we find that, eaten in quantity, they become a bit unpleasant.

The flowers are used raw. Very freely produced, they have a pleasant flavour and make a very decorative addition to salads.

Rampantly spreading plant, suitable for ground cover in a sunny position.
