Judas tree, Cercis siliquastrum

Flowers can be eaten raw. A sweetish-acid taste, they are a nice addition to the salad bow.

The flower buds are pickled and used as a condiment.

Young seed pods are edible as well, raw.

THe wood is very hard, beautifully grained, takes a very fine polish. Used for veneers.
