Local economy

Within the community of Gardians, we can create a local economy system, where goods and jobs are exchanged and recorded in a barter and exchange system.

The system would be managed by a member of the community, who flags up large imbalances, and helps to balance them out.

We could introduce a ‘jubilee year’, a festival every seven years, at which time the balance of all transactions in the local economy is reset to zero. This would prevent large imbalances from upsetting our system.

The local economy system will help us use less of the money as it is used in the world economy. It can help exchanges between Gardians, ensuring that there is an exchange of something of value, rather than the pieces of paper we look at as money.
